Glass Fusing Workshop

from £75.00

A great opportunity to spend time in a professional studio and to start to develop your own style with this magical material.

Steve who purchased a full day glass experience with me said, “I booked this workshop for a surprise birthday present for my fiancée.  Sue was a lovely host and went out of her way make the day special. The whole group had a great time, and, with Sue’s expert help, everyone made something they were proud of.  They’ve all turned out even better than expected. Would thoroughly recommend this as an experience. Thanks Sue!”

Workshop details
Those who haven’t attended a session before are very welcome; no previous experience is necessary. Expert tuition will be given at all stages. Each class will have a maximum of 6 places, to ensure plenty of space for people to work. I will show you fused glass samples of how glass behaves. This will help you when working out what you’d like to make, discovering more about fusing and slumping glass to make different forms. There is a large range of slumping moulds, dishes, soap dishes that you can select from, as well as creating curved upright pieces or hanging pieces. I am happy to support you in creating pieces developed from your own ideas. I will then teach you glass cutting techniques, let you have a practice cutting and then we’ll start making. All materials will be provided. Work will need to be fired in a kiln and can be collected later.

Gift options and pricing
You can buy a workshop session as a gift, you can purchase an e-gift card, which allows the recipient to select their chosen date. Click on the ‘Glass workshop gift voucher’ option to find out more information.

I’ve had to increase my workshop fees which started this April, due to the increase in raw materials and overheads. For those of you who have received an e-gift voucher for last Christmas at the old prices and cannot find the date that you need, contact me and I can book you directly onto the workshop.

I decided this year to run all my workshops on Sundays where possible, as this means that parking is free. I’ve also increased the time for a half-day session to 4.30pm, to allow people time to finish their own individual pieces, after the introduction to glass making at the beginning of the session. If you finish your work by 4pm, you don’t need to hang on.
If you’d like to arrange a session with family or friends that doesn’t suit the dates below, contact me and we’ll arrange a date that suits us all.
